Income issues David and Emma can help with worries about elderly issues like inadequate income to meet ever-increasing bills for Council Tax and utilities and even care costs. David is an acknowledged expert in Welfare Benefits law and can advise as to whether there may be an entitlement to unclaimed income.

“Equity release” For those with equity in their homes there is the temptation to go in for "Equity Release", and we are able to provide the best advice about such schemes, help people to avoid the wrong schemes, and decide on an informed basis whether they need it or not; if so, direct them to the best, independent financial advice, and when the scheme has been selected and approved, to deal with the legal aspects of it all.

“Powers of Attorney” There are many types of power of attorney, and the right one for the intended purpose can save you money on needlessly complicated sophisticated arrangements. Lasting Powers of Attorney came into existence in October 2007 and have replaced the former Enduring Powers of Attorney, apart from those already existing when the change occurred. Powers of Attorney are not just for the elderly, but are invaluable at any time of life to ensure that if the need arises, someone close and trusted will look after your affairs for you, and just having one ready will eliminate a lot of worry.

“Wills” We write wills too, and take a close interest in clients' wishes and great care to ensure that they are clearly expressed. David and Emma advise on the legal requirements of making a will. They are also able to talk through the options available to testators to arrange their financial and property affairs for the benefit of those intended and to reduce or eliminate Inheritance Tax.

“Other issues…” like housing, care and difficult home conditions are all within our field of competence. If you have any such worries or want to plan how to sort out your affairs for your family's benefit, then call us.
